Gaining work experience whilst learning new things during lectures is only one of the various advantages of studying in a dual system. Beyond the lectures, Allianz provides a lot of interesting projects and many benefits for their students. The varied canteen with its great discount for students being only of them.
Of course working and studying at the same time is also demanding. So it is important to stay connected within your peer group. This is how the SIBE students Luisa, John and Bianca met. They are in the same course but work in different teams at Allianz SE in Munich.
The trio consist of two, unofficially three, different nationalities: Brazilian and German (but one is Swabian and one is East Frieslanders). Since the beginning of the program they have been supporting each other, both on SIBE and work related topics.
“Exchanging with other students is essential during the master at SIBE. Discussing topics and tasks is improving the studies for me overall. To have the regular meetings with all SIBE students at Allianz and my classmates specifically is not only helping for my studies but gives me a workplace and school where I feel I belong to”, says John.
Allianz makes the combination of studying and working easy. The managers of the students know that they need to invest time into their studies. “With being flexible and always taking the time to answer a lot of questions, my manager and colleagues really support me here,” says Bianca. “And the overall team at Allianz is not only international but a lot of fun to work with.”
“Having the opportunity to work for Allianz SE, a company I believe in and studying at SIBE in parallel, where we can put into practice all our learnings is a great advantage. Sharing our experiences with other SIBE students makes things even better,” is Luisa’s conclusion after the first semester. “The possibility of exchanging questions and helping each other on our studies is what makes the partnership between Allianz and SIBE so interesting. Especially coming from abroad it makes me really happy to share this journey with Bianca and John.”
