Since 2013, active representatives from partner companies, called business mentors, have been invited annually to take part in a survey about studying at SIBE. The focus here is not only on the quality of the course and the content taught, but also on the quality of the transfer of the course content into business practice.
The current survey of the business mentors of the M.Sc. in International Management was conducted in the fall of 2020. With a response rate of 59% (N = 227), participation in the current survey was once again two percent higher than in the two previous years. As in previous years, the results of the survey are again extremely positive:
After evaluating the feedback received, it can be summarised that in 2020 the overwhelming majority of 93% of the business mentors surveyed are also satisfied or very satisfied with the SIBE study programme. In addition, almost all business mentors (98%) rate the benefit of having a student participate in the SIBE Master’s programme as high or very high.
The tendency to recommend the program to others is also at a consistently high level: 90% of the business mentors agree when asked whether they would recommend the program to others.
This year, the panel of business mentors surveyed was again very diverse. It should be emphasised that 82% of the respondents work in a management function. The spectrum ranges from positions in project management, team and department management to executive management.
By evaluating the numerous feedbacks, SIBE can respond even better to the needs of its partner companies. This year, the suggestions and ideas of the Business Mentors mentioned in the survey will again be taken up and used for the continuous adjustments of the study program.
In addition, the annual impulses also flow into the development of new study programmes. Currently, the study program concept “M. Sc. in Digital Leadership” is being developed. This aims to develop junior managers who recognize the opportunities of digitalization and make them useful for their respective companies.
